3:26p - Infobomb
Spending three weeks away from home makes me feel ultra productive when I come back, as if I have to catch up on three weeks of stuff that I didn't do. I got home on Monday evening, and had so much to do that I didn't sleep before work on Tuesday. It was only a half day, so I didn't think it would be such a serious issue. I felt like crap though, and couldn't do anything besides sifting through 900 new mails. Got home in the afternoon, called the post office to arrange for parcels to be redelivered in the evening, then put my head down to relax for a bit. I woke up at 1am o_O

PSP rainbow
If you've got a PSP, you may have noticed the colour of the OS changed in January. It actually changes every month, though. Sony's site has a list of the colours, but here is a translation.

Jan: White
Feb: Light yellow
Mar: Pea green
Apr: Pink
May: Green
Jun: Light purple
Jul: Turquoise
Aug: Dark blue
Sep: Purple
Oct: Yellow
Nov: Brown
Dec: Red

MGAC!D passwords
Also PSP-related, Metal Gear AC!D has a password function allowing you to get bonus cards by entering a code. I've picked up a few of these codes from GameFAQs, but there's also some from some Japanese men's mags that give you minute long clips of Japanese idols doing photo shoots, in game!

The passwords for the Japanese idols are:
SABRAGE - Yuka Kosaka character card
NOMEL - Asaki Yoshida character card
ELYTS - Yuu Saitou character card
MAEB - Eri Shibuya character card

Other passwords are:
VIPER - Viper (Metal Gear Ghost Babel) character card
MIKA - Mika Slayton (Snatcher) character card
KAREN - Karen Hojo (Policenauts) character card
JEHUTY - Jehuty (ZOE) character card
XMEIGHT - XM8 weapon card

Reminder to self: Check new issue of Popeye on Saturday.

Lumines skins/scores
Compiling a list of skins and high scores at GAF.
Check it out.
There are supposedly 44 skins, and only 39 are known about for now. Seems like some of them have weird requirements to unlock though, so we might not get a full list for some time. Personally I'm only as far as Spirits in Challenge mode, but I'm getting better as time passes. I tend to improve every other game I play. It's like 2 steps forward, 1 step back, or something. Great game, but I still find myself cursing at the interface - I guess they had to rush it for the PSP launch.

Frances the Mute
The new Mars Volta album is being released in Japan on 7 February (almost a month ahead of the US?). Regular edition will cost 2548 yen and special edition will cost 3300 yen. The special edition comes with a DVD and will only be available in Japan apparently. No details of what is on the DVD yet, but with a 750 yen difference, it should be decent enough. Hopefully it includes the 15 minute title track that isn't actually on the album! TMV will also be playing live in Tokyo at Sonic Mania on 5 February, but 10000 yen for a day ticket is a bit steep for me. I hope they announce some separate gigs later in the year.

Final Final Fantasy XI
This will probably be the last FFXI book I buy, but it's a good one. Final Fantasy XI Life in Vana'diel has a lot of information about the main NPCs in the game, full hierarchies of the beastmen tribes, and detailed histories of each of the nations in the game. If only someone would make a book as detailed and well-presented as this in English! It doesn't contain as many illustrations as the previous book I pimped, Final Fantasy XI World Concept, but it's very well written. It also contains the only known illustration of the Hume-Elvaan mix, Enid Ironheart, and a DVD including interviews with developers.

current mood: rocking
current music: The Mars Volta "Cassandra Gemini"
