Where is the what if the what is in why?
DQVIII progress
- 60 hours
- level 33-30 spread
- beat *that* boss and then *that other* boss soon after it
- battle road rank B cleared
- supposed to be going into an ice dungeon to find someone
- but actually in some other dungeon in the middle of a desert getting my ass handed to me every battle
The story is fantastic. Perhaps it's easier to understand than most RPGs, and although generic at times, it's very well told and quite charming. Perhaps it's a shame there is no voice acting, but it may have slowed the game down a little I guess. One question, though. Why is there a 全滅 in my battle log? Is it from one of the boss battles, because I always reset if I die...

Nope... it does look dated on a monitor. But I play everything on a 21" TV through composite cables, so I don't care either way ;)

I can't get excited for Castlevania... Lament of Innocence was just awful. :( I wish he'd give up on this 3D crap and take it back to 2D, where it belongs.

I say give him chance. I think they have to make the move to 3D if the series is to stay alive longterm. LoI was pants, though, I agree. More to do with the repeating rooms than the third dimension, I think.

The theme behind the game sounds cool. I like how it goes back to the classic period of Castlevania III.

Probably get Radiata, but won't be able to play it for a while (if ever). I'm not into the MegaTen series. I tried SMT3 Nocturne, but that may have been a bad place to start -_-;;

nod nod. Between Spectral Souls 2 and DQVIII, Radiata is hella last on the list. I'm in the same boat with DDS, hated Nocturne, but I liked Persona 2.....maybe after I finish the other 3.

So what does Negi offer to someone who has never played one of these games before? Err, except a dodgy PC hentai game a long, long time ago.
Are you gonna get biohazard 4? Everyone seems to be raving about it. I don't know where the power adaptor for my GC is though ^-^;;

I can't begin to express how good of a game Resident Evil 4 is (Uh Biohazard for you nihongies^^)I lost all intrest in the RE series and pretty much survival horrers alike, that is until this game came out >.>

Well, Negi is not a hentai game at all, because we don't see anything =_= It is, afterall, developed by Konami.

If you are familiar with how Tokimeki Memorial works, this is basically the next generation of the genre. This game, however, is much more sophicated and a lot of things are real-time, so you must manage your priorities efficiently. And instead of just keeping 10 or so girls happy (Tokimeki), you need to keep your entire class happy. which is like 30 girls or something: in addition, you also need to interact with the girls in the other classes, easily over 100 girls.

Its really quite hard to explain the new system, but essentially its like several game genres fused into one: teaching, dating, magic battling, and many many mini-games. The interface is cute and fun, a fresh alternative to most of the other games I've been playing. I would recommend trying out the demo first or get a used copy, this is obviously a niche game and not eveyone enjoys it.

I won't be able to get Biohazard 4 because I don't have a GC, Nintendo must have paid Capcom a lot of money to make that one exclusive...

biohazard4 is coming out for the PS2 too >_> but later in the year.
And why does Negi have an 18+ rating? Maybe you haven't got to the fun stuff yet ;)

The first "sneeze" was an event, but I kinda figured out how to do the sneeze thing at will last night, I cast one spell which gathered all the girls in the area, then the character just automatically kept sneezing and their skirts flying, lol.

I don't believe Nintendo is the only company that can make a brilliant 3D game from one that was always 2D. I just think it's a matter of sticking at it until the game is right. To some extent, Devil May Cry is a 3D Castlevania, so they just need to apply the "metroidvania" style to an engine like that. DMC3 coming out soon anyway <3

I'm like, one of the 3 people that really loved Castlevania 64, so I'm looking forward to this one so much. Why did I like it? <' '> The plot. Best story that's ever been in a Castlevania game, and Malus is quite possibly the coolest character to ever be in one.

If Metroid Prime can be done, then a 3D Castlevania with "metroidvania" can be done as well. With LOI, while it was alright, it seemed very uninspired. It looks like they are now putting a lot of thought into this one. It looks promising so far.

LoI Was really good. Damn Good even, but the story was kind of lacking for me. I hate prequels XD and whips for that matter! (

But this... Good lord, the story sounds damn cool and that picture of Hecter, but for gods sake I want a 3d Alucard XD!

The new Castlevania DS is looking to be cool as well...
