I've been getting myself ready for this the past couple of days and didn't even realize it; out of the blue the other day, I've had this urge to play Tempest X on the PSone and haven't been able to stop since!

Hopefully this will make up for the fact that most folks have never played Tempest 3000. Though I am happy to be one of the lucky few that has!

did you see that the author of the main Nuon emulator passed away this week? it's kind of tragicomic.

I've played Tempest 3000 and Merlin Kart Racing at the house of one Shane Bettenhausen...it was something!

Yeah, I read about it a few days ago. A real shame. Though its also kinda funny? Please pass along details.

Also, I played Tempest 3000 at some classic gaming expo in Philly a few years back. It was heads and tails above all the other Nuon games that were on-hand. Which I believe was like five... isn't that all of them?

I tried the demo; sometimes I have trouble telling what's going on in Geometry Wars - my visual confusion in Space Giraffe takes this to a whole new level.
